Feeling envious or jealous is so natural. It's a human emotion that's as natural as any other emotions. But yes, it's considered a negative one. As long as people don't let it interfere with their professional work, it's okay. I would not be bothered if any colleague is envious. I would continue being myself and be focused on right things and my work rather than wasting my time on being concerned about his jealousy. As long as it doesn't get into an ugly scenario effecting the work environment, I am okay with it.

You are right because if we try to avoid him, we won't be able to simply because he is our co-worker and we see him everyday

Even if I have friends at work, I have always taught myself with that once we are at work, there is not friend at work and we should face what we have gone to work to do
