It depends on the keyword you are trying to rank for. I have been on the first page of Google for my username since I bought my domain in 2007. You may say nobody searches for it, but you would be wrong. People will do anything online if they have a good enough reason and that is your job, to give them a good one.

I do not doubt that you rank number 1 on Google for your username. I also believe that there will be people searching for your name (as you are active on multiple sites). However, a blogger or a vlogger cannot do the same thing right, they will be required to rank for the content and not for their usernames.

What do you base your logic on? If they pick their domain name from unique choices and use SEO Techniques, they stand a better chance of getting on the first page than writing content for a topic that is already swamped with entries (which includes a lot of terms in this genre of Make Money Online. That task was a challenge by another online friend and I did it in one day and it's still there. I have tried it for popular high-interest keywords and ended up on page 23, where nobody sees them.

People do not search on Google just about how to make money. They also search for how to make babies
My point is if you are a content creator (video or text), you will have to use keywords that will help your content rank on the first few pages so that your content visibility improves, people click on your content and you get views, and in the meantime also make money from the ads embedded on your content.
