For me, I won't say that the organization should dwell much on qualifications but they should rather focus on the abilities of the person. Qualifications deceive in this days of half baked education.

Aside of what you had mentioned, the employees need to be well-skilled and qualified to their respective jobs. If not, they are just a burden in the company. In fact, it happens in the real world.

Looking for skills of potential employees is very important and necessary. It will be very much beneficial to your business on the long run.
I just hope that they will not practice nepotism when hiring people locally or internationally. There are times that they are not competent enough to their respective their jobs. It happens in all the industries in business.

Is it possible to know how sincere and truthful a person is with just an interview? I think one should bother on abilities and experience when trying to employ staff.

You have a point here. There are times that I am quite not convince with some companies or organizations for their hiring selection process. They tend to hire people based on being graduates from prestige schools and the like, which I think it is not the right thing to do.

Most of the times I don't really look at the application when I am hiring. It's from the interview and a little practical that I'm going to know if the person is qualified to get the job.

Applications and now credentials don't matter to me. What I am looking out for is ability. There are so many people who managed to get credentials and don't know nothing about the job role.

What the world is majorly looking for is your ability to do a particular thing practically and not just the kind of certificates you have. Some people have certificates but they do not have practical knowledge.
