There are so many ways to show hierarchial structure in a company. A typical example is showing the company's organizational structure and chart. In this way, the subordinates will be able to know who are the top management and so on. It can also be seen when desk arrangements were structured according to their ranks, titles, etc. What else can determine it?

Good suggestions. This has need the practice on most business organizations. They do give them orientation training and were made to comply with the code of conducts as stipulated by the company. Activities are done through hierarchical procedures

It is indeed a protocol that new employee or employees need to be oriented. In this venue, they will be able to know all the people in the organizational chart and structure. They need to know them by hear if I may say.

I don't always carry this issue hierarchy to be too important in any organization. Superiors are always defined though but making it a bug deal kills inventiveness and creativity in an organization.

A well-organised company will happen to have hierarchical structure and everybody will know their position.
You said it right. Every company should show their organizational structure to let the employees who are in the top management. They can also visualize what would be their career path while working with them.

Access to certain areas and being a signatory to approve certain transactions and programmes will show that top management can make certain decisions that no ordinary member can make. The hierarchical structure helps in the smooth running of that company. It also shows that a business is not a one man show but rather needs the input of others in order to make the final decision.

Hierarchical structure is made known immediately workers are employed. In a well established institutions all protocol must be followed accordingly. There are right procedures every data must be channel led before it get to the final destination.

I also believe that having their own separate office is something that also differentiate the higher-ranking staff from the junior staff in the company.

Different offices is exactly another thing that differentiates high ranked officers officers to low ranked employees.
Offices are arranged and demarcated based on the hierarchical order. There are some offices that are not accessible to unauthorized persons. For instance, board of directors office. Chairman office, Managing Director office etc.

Yes, only large corporations have well defined hierarchical structures on ground.
Nevertheless, some medium scale organizations have their own hierarchy as well though it might not be as officious as big corporations. Anywhere, there is hierarchy structure it must be followed.

The hierarchical structure in a company is critical and it's a thing that we put into consideration very seriously.
It is important to abide with any rules and regulations as set up by every institutions. Things must be done accordingly and that is what brought about the issue of hierarchical structure. If this is done, there would be abuse of officialdom. Each officials would not know his limitations and the right channels would not be established.
