How would you respond to a coworker that you believe makes jokes too frequently?

Making jokes is fine, but they need to be at the right time and in perfect timing. In the business world, being a joker is a big plus when it comes to dealing with new or old clients. But then, we need to be sensitive enough to do this. Magical jokes are fine because they can make others' happy and build a good rapport.

As you rightly states making cleans jokes is fine by me, I just want the one that makes everyone happy. but don't make jest of people and call it a joke I will not take it.

Having jokes in the workplace once in a while is fine and helps to uplift the mood of workers. However, if a particular worker is making jokes too often, I would try to talk business with him/her or get back to my booth to work.

If it's on me I would react silently and it would put the person off

Yes I love people that can make me laugh coming around from time to time. I don't like incessant jokes though. But it shouldn't be a yabbing kind of jokes

It is not really good if we hurt someone when making jokes all the time. I usually stay away from them. At some point, I can just call his or her attention to stop.

It's also boring if jokes made are successive. You may not react to the joke to let the person know he's crossing the line in the workplace.

This is just me, i really get bored with jokes made in succession. Yeah it is good to react negatively to the joke to let the person stop and you move away

There's one in our office too nosy of his jokes and when he enters people don't look at him bored of his jokes. It's irritating to those serious at work.

Too much of everything is bad, on a good day you can discuss with them. They should have the understanding that there is time for everything. You could also tell them with joke.

This is what Jesters should know. Too much of everything is bad, As a joker you need to know when to stop. you don't have to continue a joke when the audience are no longer finding it funny.

I do not think that it is a bad thing to make jokes until or unless you offend someone. However, i think that an employee must be serious when the boss is addressing in a serious mood.

Having a colleague that cracks jokes almost all the time at work places is good. At least you can get to stretch nerves with laughter sometimes.

I will not respond verbally but by just shrugging on my shoulder kinesically. That kind of person is so annoying. Joke is okay but not be made frequently. We may lack focus on our work.

how you respond as well would also determine if they will continue doing this or not. Show to them that you are not the type that always jokes around all the time.

I would just learn to snub such a person. It is when people laugh to his jokes that he keeps on at it.
