One of the easy way to get scammed is by investing in HYIP sites. Initially, they will start paying after sometime they will close shop and disappear with people's money. Some will not even pay once before HYIP is worst form of investment and should be checkmated.
Though few users earn from these sites but more lose their money in the process. I don't know why hyip are just run by cheaters and scammers and they are always ready to scam.
Good you were able to skip it they would have run with your money. the scammers are just hiding under this hyip to be making free money they never worked for.
I hope others learn from this and stay away from sites that promise quick turnover of one's investment. A lot of times they are just mere scams so stay away
