Is a fishing license required in your country?

I read in an article that America requires people to have fishing licenses before doing this activity in lakes and rivers. In my country, we do not have this requirement. That is what I know.

We don't require fishing license here, we can fish in any lakes and any rivers. We can even sell these fish.
