Is broom selling online a good idea?

I am thinking to sell brooms online. I am inspired by my previous experience. Before New Year, I kept on finding brooms to buy, but, it was so sad, until this day, I was not able to buy a new broom. I entered 10 stores and also entered public markets. It took me one day to search for a broom but to my dismay, I found none. I told the store owners what happened to the brooms and why are they not available. The answer was, many retailers bought in bulk to display them this year, 2023. They are thinking that they will earn much when selling them after 2022. Are they selfish humans? Then, I learned that a good source of the broom is Baguio City, the Summer Capital in the Philippines. People, there are making sturdy brooms. I also bought one 4 years ago and learned it was true. It is so sturdy that until now, it is what we use at home. I want to replace it but there is none sold here.

I am planning to sell brooms online and it will be under the care of my other sister. I already have a new Milk Tea business and it is manned by my elder sister. It will be my other sister to man my next business which is to sell brooms online. There are different kinds and sizes of brooms according to use. I am hoping that there is no permit to sell online required by our city government. I have to work out all my plans for 2023. I am so thankful to have joined here in RIF because I was able to operate a Milk tea business because of the different discussions here in the past about milk tea. Thanks to all. What can you advise and suggest?

Broom selling online, i don't really think people would actually take time to buy or order a broom online when they can easily buy it offline close to them. I might be wrong though.

The best thing about it is you can start with a minimum investment and can easily wind up if its not successful

Right now people are becoming lazier. They depend on technology. Though there are homes that will still use broom as their means of cleaning the house. I am one of them. But given a chance to buy vacuum or the swiper tool, I will choose the high tech (social climber friend).

I think that it all depends on the demand of the product. Having said that,. many consumers usually purchase a broom in many superstores. So, i do not think that opening a separate store where you exclusively sell brooms would be a great idea.

Can you please inquire about the price of the brooms there. I need a supplier and I want to sell brooms online made from Baguio city. You may serve as agent and just negotiate for some add ons to the price per broom.

Well, it is strange that you cannot find a broom because broom sticks are easily available everywhere.

That is actually another thing to put into consideration. I think you don't need shipping fees because it will be people within your locality. You can consider transportation fees.

Yes, but I am still scouting for suppliers of brooms. The best brooms are so far away, it is in Baguio city, the place of @Shavkat. It is hundred kilometers away from Manila
