It's the best as long as they get response from the business and is cheap as you don't need to hire staff for customer support.

In this modern world, it is not a good way to deal with urgent concerns now. If it is having proof of receiving or sending some files, it is a good idea.

Though a lot of companies still make use emails for their support and even advertising, but i feel making use of emails might not be that effective, especially now that most persons do not go through their emails.

Email support is considered as one of the options but it's getting less popular. Phone support is also not preferable because you always have to wait for a long time to get the support staff to answer the call. I think the most effective way is using Live Chat if you need to get quick response.
