I agree with you. It is not my field to be in an agriculture business. But then, I am open to learn new things if I have the passion of doing it. I heard that farmers can earn a lot for selling their crops in the public market.

Their country is a rich country. They have technology there and they don't really need to bother about agriculture. They can afford to import food and it would not affect the economy because they export their tech as well.

Without them, we cant eat carrots cabbage, onions, garlic, all root crops, all kinds of beans and nuts, rice, and corn. We owe much to the farmers.
