Is gold better than money in the bank?

I read this post sometime ago and I believe money in the bank is better than gold do you know why because even if you sold gold the end product will be money so it's better you opted for money in the bank

Gold has been on the rise, especially with all the inflation going on these last few years. Still, I'd rather have money in the bank, collecting interest.

Gold reached peak price this year and many people had their financial fortunes turned around. I have never seen anyone has a financial turnaround by keeping money in the bank.

I won't say Gold is better as compared to cash but Gold is quite secured and you can use that as an investment for a long term
