Is having a watch repair shop gaining?

I went to a watch repair to repair my new watch. Its strap is rubberized but so unlucky for its strap was stretched badly when it hit our French window. I was so shocked when the repair man charged me 250 pesos more or less $5. He just cut it then connect back. It took 10 minutes only. I realized it's a gaining business. The watch repair man as what he told me was trained. He said he has customers daily. Do you believe it's a gaining business? What can you say?

Any repair shop will make money but not all will make good money like this watch repair isn't lucrative in my location

I think they charge more price because they have less work now so they buy spares in lesser quantity and many times were out of those spares

Things will be different at different places as in India lesser people are Interested in watches so many shops have closed down

That's true, my watch battery drained so I went to mall to have it replaced shocking the cost from 100 pesos now 480 pesos. Then I asked the repair man outside the mall his battery cost 250 pesos big difference.

It's same in here as they don't have much work so they don't have much to earn and its not a popular business now

Same in my country it seems people are not longer interested in wearing watches or repairing them

In my place young and old wear a watch. I have 5 watches all gifted to me from my friend in California branded Fossil and Michael Korsh.

Watch repair business is not profitable as not many are even interested in wearing a wrist watch thanks to smartphones

I think that if you offer your shop to a repairman in the mall, then they will certainly charge you more money comparatively to a repairman who could be found in the local market.

I know of people who have watch repair shops, but i do not really know how lucrative this is though. But i think it would be better to also sell watches as well.
