People may use abbreviations to write in a different way when conversing in writing. Although effective, this method could also come out as being overly casual in some circumstances and confusing in terms of meaning.

Using internet terms for business isn't something I think it's bad to do. It's also way to market your products.
It is important to adopt the internet services in your Businesses to make it grow quickly.
For formal communication in business, I think it's better not to use internet terms to avoid misunderstandings and confusion. Internet terms can be used for casual communication and instant messaging.
Communication is simply a waste of effort of the people you are communicating with cannot understand you. Be that as it may, it is not appropriate to use all those shorthand in formal communication.
If you work in IT sector definitely it is and it is normal. If you work in some language institute, than better not since those don't like internet terms. Also don't use anywhere internet terms for sexual jokes. In anyway those have same meaning, fully written or short internet version.
There is not wrong with using technology and internet terminology in business relationship. We need to be evolving and updating ourselves with new technological innovations or else we will lose relevance. A lot of business have crumpled because of inability to adapt to modern way of doing things.
