The success of this business in my city also depends on the location. There are areas near University, colleges and offices that have a lot of PG homes( Paying Guests). Most of them are bachelors, students etc. They don't have time for laundry and also many don't have the washing machine. Laundry in such areas in our city is a profitable business.
Doing laundry as a part time business is a recipe for disappointing your customers. It is a complete full time business. Customers can come in to drop and get their clothes at any time of the day.
You may feel laundry business is easy and a very lucrative one, yes it is but you need to do all the necessary things for you to be able to get customers
In my country, laundry business is highly lucrative,if you learn the hacks of the business and do it well, serve it with excellence and delegence, and situate a stall close to a residential area or a busy place, you would definitely get patronage.
You can even do laundry business without you being actively involved. You can train some people on how to do the laundry, and get them all the necessary things they will need

This is indeed rampart among the busy type laundry owners who engage the service of others to run the outfit for them. The nature of their tight schedule could not allow them to operate it. But they need to be effective on how to supervise the business for efficient and effective operation.
I am not in support of not getting actively involved in your business because you need to be involved in order to enhance productivity.
Yes you will be involved, you can be involved in the marketing or accounting section. It is not necessary you do the laundry your self. You just need to be in the important part of the business to make it work

Laundry business is lucrative especially if you are in big cities where people are busy with limited time to attend to their house chores.
Most house chores are now be outsourced. This include laundry, house cleaning baby sitting etc.

Technology has made the business profitable and thriving in my country. Every here and there, you see laundry shops. The business is competitive in nature. Some are adding additional features into it like charging for ironing alone incase you wash the fabrics but no electricity to iron it.
