This is not a hindrance for a company to operate in countries that do not use the universal language of English. The company can hire translators and have all the manuals transcribed in English and the native language of particular countries. Although it will result in squandering a lot of money, it can be done by having a series of training sessions through visual aids.

Most companies are domiciled in locations far from their home country. In situations like this managers and employees have to be either natives of that country or people who are fluent in the language of that country.

Such companies would have larger percentage of the citizens as employees.

Yes this can definitely stand a an hindrance when it comes to business. Communications matters a lot in business and for there to be proper communication, there needs to be understanding.

It's not a hindrance because as a business owner you will transact only to companies who can speak English. Business owners are keen about the areas that cannot understand English if transact abroad but if within the country where both lives there's no problem of communication barriers because almost all can speak Tagalog.

Language is no longer a barrier in my own perspective. There are professional translators and speakers of so many languages. The company can simply employ such people to do the work for them.

You are so right @Chibson, language barrier is not anymore a problem in globalization. There are many interpreters this time and expect to have a business manned by someone who can speak English well.

Yes, not really a hindrance. However, several companies are reluctant to do so, some use regional languages, even though there are workers who come from other regions. I think that's discriminatory and unfair.

Those who cannot speak the same language find it hard to understand business transactions. They better accompany someone who speaks different languages. It will be unfair. The businessman might get offended for he might not be able to translate on his own.

I remember a few years ago, I served customers from other countries. He was determined to use Indonesian, when I answered using Indonesian he was confused. And asked his friend to be a translator between us. LOL

He was a liar, he was thinking that you cannot speak your own language well. Good for him. At least it proved that language barrier creates conflict. It is good to have an interpreter.

For me I feel it is. This is because we have people of different walks of lives being employed and are expected to work together as a team for the betterment of the company. The language here can be a barrier for the smooth working operations over there.

He's pretending that he could speak your language well when not. How did you settle that conflict? It's good of that person not to brag that he could speak well. Why didn't he speak English?

No conflict at all, he spoke through a translator. Ask to be taught Indonesian. LOL I just smiled cutely looking at it. I don't know why he doesn't speak English with me. LOL
