Kids are Making this as a Business

In my place, kids go around the villages to sing Christmas songs in exchange for money.

At home, we already have coins ready so everytime we have kids as visitors singing Christmas carols, we can give me change. I cannot count how many kids went here from the start of December til today.

Others go to their godparents to ask for Christmas gift. That's automatic here, if it's not gift items, it will be money to give. People in my cousin's place, will bring relatives with them so even the kids that are not godchildren will also receive money.

It is not wrong to give, in fact it better to give than to receive.

However, I cannot stop thinking if family intentional go together in one house so they get money from the owners.

At home, we don't get much kids because we don't have relatives here. Though they are not relatives, we already welcomed around 8-10 kids. Gave them money since that's what we already prepared.

After December 25, you see kids at the mall buying stuff from the money they collected from households.

Over hear all the carols i have heard so far are from 9 lessons and carols programs held in churches, i have not seen any kid using this as a way to earn extra capital.

Here kids form a group of 2-3 members. They go house to house to sing carol and ask for Christmas present or money. If you give the group money expect another groups will show up singing.
