Internet and tech is evolving industry which i believe is evolving very fast. I believe in next 50 years, the gap will be closed. You will not use internet jobs that have started in few years to compare businesses and jobs that have been with us for hundreds of years. Moreover, internet jobs have not been classified by many countries as a means of making a likelihood.
In my country the government has been so reluctant on dealing with the labour compliance exercise on the internet and online working as a whole. The government only posed taxes on payment received to the online workers.
I totally agree with you Its unfair that some top officials are taking credit for the hard work of others. The first step is awareness. We need to educate people about these issues and demand equal recognition and rights for online workers.

Most of the famous influencers and mainstream media will ignore the legitimate complaints and problems of those who are not well connected, especially harassment of powerful government agencies since they get a lot of advertising.
you are right when the masses of the authorities are corrupt most of the people will like to stay away from them and they will usuallu accept the intelligent as well as the non comprehendable so it is not that much uncommon actually .
