In any business or investment, there must be an agreement between both parties. Lets say for example an employer decides to hire some workers, there must first be an agreement between the employer and the employees that they would be paid certain amount for their work.
When it comes to investments, would you prefer a verbal agreement where both parties just talk it out, or should there also be a legal agreement to back it up? Personally i believe it is safer to have a legal agreement as well.

It's not good to have a verbal agreement. The said agreement could fly away unless recorded. In the university where I work we signed a contact and notarized. It feels safe and secure if there's contract or agreement.

I have used an investment company to buy mutual funds for me. I always sign a legal agreement with the company. That is essential to ensure that both parties are protected and to avoid any argument in the future.

There is nothing concrete and with surety unless it is documented and legal. I will never trust a verbal agreement and build hopes on it. I was once offered a job verbally but I did not get any official job joining letter from them. And verbal things don't hold a place.
