Newspaper is one of the cheapest ways to stay aware of what's happening around the world in detail and because it's cheap it cannot work on its own and dependent on advertisements and many times we see it filled with advertisements only because even a person who doesn't have access to TV or digital media reads newspaper so it's the best medium to advertise for masses and cheap too.

Newspaper industry for sure has experienced the declined of readership and buyers. This age of technology, the news and current events are just fingers clicks away. We can use our mobile phones to browse news. YouTube can also be used for live news broadcast.
And, sadly, these days people have stopped buying and reading newspapers because of the internet. I remember when I was a child and there was no internet I used to read newspaper for an hour daily but not nowadays. Even when used to go to the saloon and waiting for my turn I used to read newspaper lying on the desk in the saloon but not nowadays as I prefer to browse net while waiting anywhere.
Yes, you are so right, but only a very few people read newspapers this time, they mostly watch videos. Its so sad.
Do you read the newspaper? I don't, I used to read when I was in school and once I got the smartphone I never needed newspapers. But, I regret not reading them because they are a good source of information.

Yup everything is available at a click so most of us have resulted in the newspaper sales and to adapt they are dependent on advertisements only and without advertisements we may not see these survive for a long time so many news paper agencies have now also set up their electronic news paper and we need to subscribe to read that

Nowadays we don't really buy or even read the newspapers. Maybe kids of today does not know how newspapers look like. In school, we even study the parts of the newspapers. I doubt kids at school still study it.
My late grandfather, used to buy newspapers and read the news. We don't trash it right away because I can use it for school projects like cut out letters. Or news clips.

My parents still buy it and they like to read the news and to be aware of what's happening around the world through it even if they have smartphones and cable tv and it's a good way because the newspaper can still be used in different ways
We no longer subscribe newspaper during pandemic. It's delicate virus lurks anywhere. What I do is read news via Google news online and watch TV news. Sometimes at yahoo news.

There are different ways to check the news and stay aware of whats happening all around the world and what I do is to check my facebook or twitter feed and most of the time I came to know about what's happening but still a large percentage of people read newspaper in India
We also use to keep old newspapers for further use. We used to buy newspapers in both languages Hindi and English. Also, old newspapers were used as a cover on notebooks and various other craft projects.
But reading the newspaper has its fun. Our teacher used to say that one should read editorial columns to increase knowledge of the language. I remember I used to devote hours to reading them in my leisure time.
I also like to read the editorial column. I was hired an editor of our local magazine The Nova Magazine. We only had 13 issues because the owner went abroad and didn't want me to assume his business. That magazine dealt with sports and hobbies. I was paid 7 000 per issue, that was money already.
