How common is the pay gap between the genders in your home country? Even though the country specifically prohibits discrimination against genders when it comes to paying for the same kind of work, in practice there is a gap between men and women. This gap is not only in the field where you are required to do manual labor but also in the areas where you have to put in mental labor.

Over here i might be wrong though but from what i have seen, both genders are paid equally, the most important thing is that they are able to do the work effectively.

Actually , it isn't that common, pay should never be done based on gender but qualification, why should you pay an incompetent person more just because he or she is of a particular gender.This is gender discrimination and such act should not be seen in the society.

It is a good thing that my country accepted the gender equality. It means that salary gap is not because of gender, but it is based on their position titles.

That is an ideal and a good thing. In some countries, they are not open to this gender equality. I had noticed and witnessed this in a Muslim country that I had stayed and worked before.

Pay should be solely dependent on work done and should never be done based on gender as this will lead to gender discrimination and also let the other gender to have low self esteem about them self.

Competence determines how well someone is paid. The world has evolved beyond the point where a certain gender is favored to get something just because of its gender. Nowadays, male or female, you have to prove your worth to get your pay.

Surely there is a big gap in some businesses or organisations but not all as in my region all workers are treated almost the same and the payments are also coming in practically the same if they are on the same level.

In the entertainment industry where I belong, the females earn slightly more than the guys at the intermediate level but in the A level, the guys command more pay because they are more inventive in performances.
