Policy for usernames and profile photos

Do you have a policy for usernames and profile photos in your community or do you accept usernames containing any words and avatars displaying any images?

Some admins choose to ban certain words directly in the ACP. There are also certain niche communities (such as religion forums) that prohibit the use of profile photos that depict certain characters (belonging to said religion).

From what I've seen throughout the years, the use of profile photos that contain text advertising another website is also a frequently prohibited thing.

What's your stance on this? Share your thoughts.

I think that peaple should be able to have any profile picture that means what they like etc just not content that is not for kids you know what I mean by that

I run one forum and I co-own another and when it comes to things such as profile pictures and usernames, I am happy for most things but if they become vulgar, rude, racist or even homophobic or even contain adult content, that is where I draw the line and I will remove them and set them to a random username or a default avatar and let the user know of the change.

Your username and your profile photo should be something that will be acceptable on the website and not something that promotes hate or any other negative vice on the platform

There are some names that I have banned including admin, moderator, etc. I also do not accept names that sound too racial or are pornographic in nature. I also do not allow obscenity in avatar

I have never find any fun rules and regulations about the usernames and the profile photos.

On my forums, I don't believe we have a specific policy in place, but it's a common sense thing. Nothing inappropriate.
