Should a business make political contributions to a politician or political candidate?

I think businesses should stay out of politics, as having a politician representing a business over people, makes trying to achieve certain issues in the government, that much more difficult to do so.

It is called lobbying and it is part of business. You have to be subtle about it . Don't allow it to blow up in case the government you supported leaves power.

II think you have a valid points because the business will get affected if the government leaves the power and the next government does not favour them

That's why you would never see a business organization come out to endorse anyone publicly. They do it secretly. They contribute to anyone that they think would benefit them.

It is true that some business people are politically inclined but don't do it openly. There is a risk of being witch-hunted if you openly declare support. Businesses use extrrme diplomacy to play politics.

It is sad to say but politicians love to be engaged in businesses. For example, one of the TV stations was closed here because the politicians are bombarding them with so many issues. I am sure they were trying to have something from doing it.

It's always going to backfire if a business set up gets into politics against another powerful team and they end up losing. The winner might end up making new policies that's going to affect such businesses in a bad way.

In every political season, businesses make alliances with candidates to support them on exchange for favorable policies when elected. Why do you think a government would just wake up and create a monopoly in a particular industry?

In some countries, businesses have their own principles and they openly support a person that shares the same principles with them. The would gladly make donations to help the person to power.
