Recent increase in part time workers

Recently I have noticed something that has been trending in the business world. There have been an increase in the amount of part time workers. Most companies now prefer hiring part time workers to work for a specific period of time then drop them off,while some companies use the term contract workers, the moment they have completed their duration the company drops them off. Do you think part time workers are effective than full time workers or are they effective in terms of cost management?

There is a trend of gig working, people are ditching full time job to work part time jobs. But I believe this is a fad that will stop some day. It is really difficult to earn as a part time worker.

Offline part time workers are making far more money than online workers, and it more cost effective for companies to hire the workers for low end work.

I don't think it is about the workers being effective I think the companies just want to cut costs

Big companies here in the Philippines do not hire part-timers. They hire only full-timers and single. Part-time only happens in teaching.

Part time workers are increasing because most tasks that used to demand full time staff have become automated.

It is possible that some companies are hiring part-time workers to save on costs by avoiding benefit expenses, but I am not so sure.

I cannot blame them for having part-time jobs because I am one of them. We need to do this to earn more than we can do before.

The world has gotten to the point that people are not really willing to commit the whole of themselves to one entity. They better do part time in many places.
