In India and in different parts of the world most people prefer the life insurance with an aim to channelize their savings and it's a good way to save every month or every year so it's a good profession if you like to try and the salary and commission are both very good.

Here in the Philippines more people are venturing to being a Life Insurance coach. My cousin is a Life Insurance agent in one of the biggest agencies. Most of the time she achieved her quotas and being awarded incentives for that.

She is encouraging me to learn how to become an agent. I don't think I can because I am not sociable. I can talk to people but my social exposure is limited.

Yes it's trending these days as most of the people here take these life insurance policies and the agents earn well. I thought of doing it but it needs a person to be very social and should have good ability to explain and convince people which I lack so I dropped the idea.

I am selling only nonlife insurance, not life. It takes years to collect the policy owners' monthly, quarterly or yearly premiums unless the policyholder has a credit card and pays his premium directly to the office so no hassle to the insurance seller; whereas for nonlife insurance, it is yearly renewable so I just sell and sell and collect succeeding payments one year after or before their policies expire.

It's for those that are good with chit chat as I have seen most of the agents so talkative and they keep asking for insurance policy and this is how they complete their Quotas and earn.

Absolutely it's not for the people who dont speak much. Any service requires good communication skills to sell them. People generally dont rely on the sales men easily.

Selling insurance products can make good money, on condition that you are an aggressive, and good sales person because competition is really fierce.
That's true, I only sell fire, accident , travel and group insurance to my friends, family relatives, co workers and to organizations, construction owners and group of lawyers. I'm a member of the Y's Men's Club International composing mostly lawyers, bankers and business men.

Most of the people posting on this and other forums from India are not extroverts, so they may find it difficult to sell insurance offline, though the commission is good.

I am also like you, I dont like talking to others about anything and for selling things to people you should be extremely good at it. You should be talkative and should speak not only to the point but also something which may be liked by a person and makes him/her ready to buy a product/service you must be wanting to sell. This is a special skill and not everyone has it.

Why do they think so is not understandable? It's very important these days. As there is always a risk involved with us when we go out of our homes. This will always protect your kids and spouse if something happens to you. It's strange why people cannot understand this simple thing. Yes, there are a few people here too who think that it's a waste of money.

It is never a waste of money . We need protection against accidents, fire, and others. There are certain unforeseen events that humans cannot guarantee or escape because there is no second chance for an accident. You will pay only a minimal amount but will entitle the family to receive millions enough for them to start their own in case something bad happens to thee bread winner in the family.

I used to be a marketing person but selling insurance was so evasive. I had been invited by some agents but it's something that I am not good at.

Agree and they were having losses of lives. Up to this time insurance companies aren't able to reach their quota. They're also dependent to they're reinsuring company the American Insurance Group of Companies.

I know it's hard and not everyone is good at this but some like to take risk and like to learn and there is no denial that you can improve overtime.
