I am not aware of other countries but in India, its a great business and very popular and most of the schools have tie-ups with these stores and they redirect the parents to visit a particular store for books and this is how they make good money.

It is a very lucrative business especially when the shop is close to a school

That's true. Maybe the bookstores pay a commission to the school. We had a shop nearby school so we used to take all the books and other stationery materials from that shop.

Here in Nigeria most private school prefer books been purchased at the school, so it leave the store owners with constant orders on beginning of school semester while other prefer to purchase novel for self satisfactions

Whereas in high school we were allowed to purchase books from outside but nowadays they don't allow it. Schools these days are like a business and they want to gain as much profit as they can.

Schools mostly have their tie-up with one store in the city where we can buy books and normally these books aren't available anywhere so we cannot get these books from anywhere else and need to buy from that particular store.

Yes, that's true I have noticed this since my kids started going to school. The books they have in their syllabus cannot be bought from anywhere except the shop they asked to buy them.

As far as I am concerned I have known quite a long time that selling books business is a very profitable one and in fact this is my dream business when I get enough capital.

There is a book-selling day here near our malls. I always buy books on this day. Their books though second-hand but still look new. I am not so sure if this is a lucrative business.

It must not be a lucrative business nowadays as most people don't buy books these days as most things are available on the internet. Even the students take help from the internet. There are several apps which provide good study material.

That is true only a very few people buy books during a pandemic. People are mostly confined to reading books online. We can just download the book tile we want to read and it's free. The only difference is we cannot keep the book read online.

You are right just have a shop near a school and you would make good sales daily. Students always have want they want to buy daily.

Some schools here doesn't allow buying of school books from the outside rather students buy from the ones supplied to the school by another book seller so either ways selling school books is a very good business, it will be better to rope well with more schools as their primary supplier to boost the business

Some people even sell in side the school. it will be great to have a stand in the school so that you take advantage to make more money.

It's the same here, the students must have a synchronous book contents, author and publisher. The supplier will deliver the text books to the program head or chairperson. Sometimes they students will be directed to buy in the book center and pay the book thru installment added to their monthly tuition.

Speaking of selling books, I am planning to sell my textbooks used during my university days. I will add to my online shop that was started early this year.
