Selling Signature Space

If you are active on multiple forums, one of the interesting ways to make money is by selling your signature space. You can get paid for promoting someone's links through your signature? Have you tries this?

Unless one is popular and users know thier signature will be seen by many I doubt that signature space can be sold

I have done this multiple times and it is not as difficult as it seems to be.
