Should a master teach an apprentice everything?

The master can only give an apprentice what he or she needs to find a footing in the business. The apprentice must develop his own style and identity.
I trust some masters. They won't say anything to show you how work is done. You have to learn by watching him do it. That is very rampant in barbing salons and make up studios. If you can't grab by watching, you are completely on your own.
As much as possible the master must teach the apprentice all what he knows that has made him a success in the business. Quit that insecurity of an apprentice knowing more than the master. Every master should strive to raise apprentices that area better than them.
It is important for the apprentice to know everything about the business.
I don’t think so personally, I think an apprentice should learn in their own and even create their new practices. That way, it shows that they have their own ideas and they should even surpass their master. In whatever trade they might have. So I don’t think personally that a good master is someone whom teaches their apprentice everything.
I believe they do reserve some knowledge to make themselves feel superior , otherwise they are on the same level as their apprentice, they do this mostly for parts they learn on their own and not necessarily learning from their master too
I use to have apprentices and I know the ones that would gi ahead to do great in the industry from their approach to apprenticeship. I would teach you everything if you can't discover things for yourself but I know you would be limited. A good apprentice should be able to discover new things.
It is mental laziness for an apprentice to sit down and wait for the master to teach him everything in today's world. When learning is everywhere. You just need the foundational knowledge from your Master.
There are many people who now learn many different things through online classes. However, certain skills cannot be taught to a student through this particular method, so it all depends on what kind of skill you want to learn.
Online is very broad and it has given a lot of people opportunities to make money for themselves by learning different things for free . For instance, you can learn a lot on YouTube for free.
Some people will actually tell you that it is right for a master to teach his apprentice everything they need to survive in the new business that they want to go into while others are going to argue that as a master, you should you leave out a few things that is going to protect you from the competition your apprentice is going to bring when he set up his own business.
My close friend wanted to learn tailoring. She joined an apprenticeship program with an established tailor. And just one year in, she does styles that her madam can't. In apprenticeship, it is all about the basics and few important tips. The rest is all up to the apprentice.
A master should be very proud that his apprentice is now in the same level that the master is, so I believe you should teach him everything that he needs to know to grow.
I believe that an apprentice should always want to learn more and learn alone so that his boss will be very proud of him and will always want to teach him everything that he knows about the business
