Should management of a company let the staff know of the challenges it is facing?

Businesses face challenges that might affect them considerably. One puzzle though is if a business organisation should let it's staff members know that it is facing challenges. On one hand, it could help to manage the expectations of staff. On the other hand, it could affect the morals in of staff in the organisation.

What do you think should be done?

If it is operation-related, they should know the current situation of a company. Although it is still the owner's discretion if they want to disclose the other related business problems of the company.

Of course, the employees must know the problems a company may be facing with. The company needs needs the concerted efforts and the employees if they want the company to exist.

You have to understand how to manage crisis as a business person and discern which of the business problems is suitable to be shared with the generality of staff.

There are certain things that if staff should know know would kill their morale. Something like a business being in huge debts should be managed at top management level.

There is nothing that is wrong with staff knowing the challenges the organisation is facing. They may even be able to proffer solutions.
Once they signed the contract with the company, they accepted the current situation of this particular company. It is a matter of being hired to face these business challenges.
