Much has been said about how to identify a market segment that is more likely to need your product and target your marketing drive and efforts.

So does that mean you should not bother advertising to those who are not part of the target market? What happened to creating new markets?

If you have a limited budget, target only your potential market. If there is no issue with the budget, you can market aggressively.

It depends on the intention of the business owner on what to do with his or her business to make it grow or be profitable. Capital varies much too.

Your target Market are does who your goods and services are ment for, they are the ones likely to buy products. Lets say for example a person sells baby food, the target market for this business are the nursing mothers, it would make no sense trying to market this business to the elderly or young students.

I think you should only advertise to your target market if you want faster sales because those are the people that are surely going to buy.

It depends how the marketing department's personnel will come up with their marketing strategies. If they are focusing on their products solely, then it will take time for the new market to be materialised.

I think advertising to your target markets only is the more cost effective way to increase sales of your products. If you plan to expand your market, you need to do a detailed market research and find out the needs of customers in those potential markets before starting advertising.

It is more cost effective if you focus your advertisement efforts on people that are more likely to buy. The other segment can be done when you want to break into new markets.

I believe that it is a total waste of resources to advertise your business product and services to audiences that are not interested in what you are advertising to them.

This is ideal for small-scale businesses. If they do have limited budget for advertising, they can limit the scope of promoting their products or services. But then, they can still social media to target their market in a wide range.

It is not financially wise to spend a whole chunk of your advertisement budget trying to convince who are less likely to patronize you. It is better to focus on those who would patronize you.

For small businesses that cannot spend a lot of money on marketing, it is very important to do market segmentation. This will allow them to market only to their potential customers for maximum conversion.

Modern advertisements especially that of social media platforms are costly. Therefore we should only target our prospects because that is where our goldmine is. There is possibility that non_target prospects can make a huge but it is better we don't because of financial institutions

It wouldn't be a bad idea especially if you are on a budget you can just target your audience that you are sure thru can be attracted than advertising to everyone

If you have low budget then you can advertise in your target market but if you have enough budget then you should aggressively market to your product, no matter that one is your target market or not because by doing this you will get more customers.
