Social media a market place for employees?

For sometime now i have noticed most companies usually post job opportunities on their social media platforms, do you think social media is a good place to seek employees and how effective is this method.

LinkedIn is a very good site for employees to post their profile, career development to gain exposure. I know quite a lot of employers are checking on this site to look for talented people.

There are some people tend to buy things on social media, such as Facebook. But then, others prefer to buy their clothings on e-commerce platforms, either locally or internationally. It depends on people's preferences.
