In my location, you cannot invest in water utilities. The government's Water Supplies Department is responsible for providing clean water to residents. Private companies just sell bottled distilled water or sparkling water.
Private companies manage the water system facilities in the biggest city in our country. These are big corporations who can address the financing requirements and technical system. Some government controlled water system are politicized and corrupted by the incumbent elected officials.
It is true because the government is saddled with the responsibility of doing such in my country as well.
