May be. But the question is whether playing video games makes one smart or not!

I think video games do make you smarter in a sense, not knowledge wise, but you with reflexes, communication etc.

As someone who grew up playing pc games, I definitely got better at typing and communicating with people through video games.

It increase concentraction and can help with language. There is few more things possible but only if player want.
