I would much prefer a paid VPN because with a free VPN features are limited. I would want to make sure that I'm getting the best protection.

Virtual private network - free or paid? Which is better and why?
If it is for short term usage, I think free Vpn should be your best bet,while if it is for long-term usage paid Vpn is your best bet,but the paid Vpn is more stable in terms of connectivity
But these are few things I would like you to know about the free and paid version of the VPN;
With a free VPN you will encounter numerous intrusive ads, but with paid VPN you do not need to worry about ads.
With a free VPN you will have limited servers and regions for connecting in the other hand, a paid VPN service will offer to you a multitude of regions and servers.
With free VPN, obviously you do not have to spend a dime, but the paid version of it requires you to make some payments
Free VPN will most times cap you with respect to the usage of the service, that is the bandwidth limit, but with paid VPN, you can use the service as much as you like without having to worry about bandwidth limit and so on the basis of this, I would strongly suggest you go for the paid VPN version. Thanks

For many users, a proxy can be sufficient for activities like unblocking content or hiding your location for streaming, but it won’t provide the same level of security or privacy as a VPN.

A VPN is great for protecting your privacy online, but it’s not the only option out there. If you don’t need the full encryption or anonymity a VPN provides, a proxy server might be a good choice.
