When it comes to organic traffic, the ranking of your site on search engine results is important. We all know that sites that are ranked first would tend to get more visits from search engines.

But some sites don't even make it to the first page if search engine results. Does it mean that a site ranked on the second page of search engine results would not get reasonable traffic?

This is where keyword research and other SEO factors come in. If competition is low, it will be easy to rank high. An aged domain usually ranks higher than newer ones too.

Both on-page and off-page SEO play a crucial role in how high a site ranks.

Ranking on the second page of Google search results still drives traffic, but volumes tend to be significantly less than page one - as much as 90%+ fewer clicks by some estimates. Most never venture beyond the top page one listings. However, more niche long-tail keywords with lower competition still find second page placements worthwhile if aligned with monetization plans. Always refine SEO for eventual first page aspirations though.

In my experience, if the searcher does not find what he was looking on the first page he can go upto third page, sometimes upto 5th page. However , it is rage to go beyond 5th page.
