I don't quite agree that technology would increase unemployment in the society. Rather, technology would boost employment rates. It improves productivity. It enhances mass production as a result of engaging more labour in production. Technology saves time.

It is sad to say that AIs are starting to invade some people's jobs these days. Even doctors are also threathened because of this matter, I had seen some that can operate people now.
I always wonder what would become of our society when everyone just goes home and leaves the AIs and Bots to work. We would all be broke and poor.. The major reason everyone should start their own businesses.
The demerits of technology is minimal because it has a lot of benefits.
Unfortunately the world cannot remain on the manual labour in terms of business because the growth of everything will always demand that production be intensified and it's only technology can make it happen.
The good thing is that I can still have my regular jobs online. What if AIs were designed to be doing my jobs online? I am sure it would be a disaster for me and the rest of the virtual teachers around the globe.
