What are the qualities you consider when employing a company driver?

Most structures organizations have a transportation unit that man the vehicles owned by the company. And with it would come the need to hire drivers. These drivers' core roles is to make drive the company's vehicles on company duties. They are very essential to the organization.

Apart from driving skills, what again would you consider to be factors that would define a good company driver?

Other than having good driving skills, a company driver should have a cleaning driving record, be reliable and trustworthy. S(he) should also have a good sense of direction and possess basic car repair skills.

I agree with you. We need to more vigilant with this matter. In my country, some employers ask the driver applicant to secure clearance from the police station, health certificate, etc.

You are right. They should be loyal, too. If they are being pirated by others, the trust will be broken. These employers would not like to have this kind of people under the roof of their houses.

It does not necessarily mean he must be conversant with the town in particular. The more he is engaging in driving the more he would be knowledgeable in the town.
A good driver must have good sight for him to have good visibility of objects near and far. He must be courtsy and know how to be polite to everybody.
