What can you do to help a partner that is neck deep into gambling?

For some people, they have fallen so deep into gambling that they genuinely can't help themselves even when they know that the gambling lifestyle is not good for them.

Supposing you have such a partner, what would you do to help him or her? Would you leave the relationship?

If a person is addicted to gambling, it is very difficult to pull him/her out. I have a relative who was like this. His wife had tried every means to stop him from gambling, but that didn't help. They divorced eventually. I think nowadays, may be seeking professional help is the only way.

I don't think anything can be done in a situation like this. They have to want to come out of it before you can help. You trying to stop them on your own might not work.

This is terrible. My friend is in this shoe and she is a complete wreck by the gambling addiction of her husband. That's why you need to know someone very well before you marry.

If there is a facility to rehabilitate her, then I will do it. In fact, one of our friends was undergone this before. She cannot refuse gambling because of addiction.

The best thing is to make some people examples for him so he can learn. I mean people who have ruined their lives due to gambling

I will help my partner overcome it and work through any issues we face. If our efforts are not successful, I will seek professional help. If even that does not lead to improvement, I fear that our relationship may not be sustainable and could fall into a repeating pattern of challenges.
