Usually, both terms are used combined as sales and marketing, but in sales we remain involved in selling of any product and we don't market it while in marketing we just only market our products.

For me i believe sales has to do with buying and selling, you sell your goods or services to make profit, while marketing on the other hand is advertising your business to your target audience.
