What is the strangest money-saving strategy idea your boss ever came up with?

My boss once suggested we save money by repurposing old office supplies as planters for our desk plants! It was an...interesting idea. We ended up with a few mason jar pen holders and a lot of raised eyebrows. While it didn't exactly revolutionize our budget, it did bring some humor and creativity to the workplace. I guess you could say we 'grew' our own savings...literally!

I am not sure if it is strange thing to do. My ex-boss told us to handwrite our reports since we are working in the community before.

Back then it was refusing to buy new materials until we are completely out of it to the point where customers where complaining.

I have never had a boss direct on savings but I do direct myself to saving more of my money. This is by doing bulk shopping and cooking most of my food.
