As for me, if I experience unpleasant treatment from employees or superiors, then I will be honest with them, if they don't change, then I will report it to the authorities so that action is taken. If there is still no change I will choose to resign.

There's no drastic action from the boss if the error done is shallow. It's just s matter of interrogation to the employee. If well explained there's no reason why resign in case worse comes to worse better resign.

A mature and considerate boss can effectively demonstrate her displeasure to a member of her staff by writing an official memo or letter to the erring worker. Such approach would be commendable in that it would not necessarily embarrass the errant staff member.

This is not something that can be corrected outrightly as people have different personalities and this is both with the bosses and employees as people have different ways they take correction after being scolded by their bosses. The best way is to find out which way a staff feels after being scolded and in what manner.

To be honest with them, you show your displeasure. Let them know first what you don't like and asked for a change. if there's no change then a drastic action should be taken

Talk to him, however, in private. Your staff needs to know why you are displeased and what he can do to make you pleased. You also need to save him from embarrassment.
