One of the biggest travel hacks that has saved me money is being flexible with my dates and destinations. I use fare tracking sites and apps to find the cheapest days and routes to fly. Packing light to avoid checked bag fees is another simple way I cut costs. But my favorite hack is taking advantage of credit card points and airline/hotel loyalty programs to score free flights and accommodations.

1) I strictly avoid high seasons
2) I strongly prefer a medium to short distance, to spare on taxis/UBER
3) Since this year, I give my preference to aparthotels, as I can count on cockpits to let my couple prepare our own meals (so avoiding restaurants: such a tip counts on a secondary benefit for me, as I'm sure to avoid food causing me allergies)

Conducted tours to my mind are cheaper as we are put up in 5 star hotels which would not be possible if one were to take holidays on their own
I do not travel on high seasons. My credit card can earn travel miles which I can redeem to save on airfare. I always travel light to avoid paying excessive baggage fee.
