Over here in my country, almost every business sector have an association. Lets take photographers for example, they have a body where different photographers can come and discuss various matters and even create fixed prices for themselves, what do you think about this, do you think these associations are helping or not

Of course they are helping, in fact there are some association that requires that you must join like the patent drug dealers. If you refuse to join them they will report you to the police claiming they don't know you as a certified dealer and that will get you arrested for sure.
Some online business owners are completed isolated, their correspondence is robbed, diverted to the girlfriends of top government employees without a legally valid reason, so it is difficult to communicate or form any association.
I believe a trade association would be useful to a member of a business. To make the best out of an association, a business owner however needs to first carry out sufficient research to ensure that the objectives of the association align with her interests.
Yes, I think joining association helps. I am a freelancer working on translation. I joined Hong Kong Translation Society. They organized talks and conferences once in a while. It is a good networking opportunity, and the talks help to improve my translation skills.
if the associations help to add creativity and impact the overall industry positively then there is nothing bad in having such associations as they help create a positive impact for companies and specific industries
I guess joining associations that have the same interests as you has no harm since you will be more open to opportunities and have a bigger network to explore.
I am a special educator and counselor by profession. And I have joined few associations of these special educators and counselors.We help each other learn by sharing together. Also it's a good source to know about job opportunities or ways to enhance our skills. We keep getting updates about workshops, courses, job openings etc.
