The major key that would determine either the entrepreneur needed an assistant or not depends how much effort the business is taking out of him. If he knows that he can't cope, then he needs an additional assistant that would help him out.

An entrepreneur should get an assistant that will assist in carrying out some business activities.
I think the point that an entrepreneur needs an assistant, is when he/she notice that they could no longer handle all the business transactions they have in a given day. Times like that, it only shows that the business are taking off into a new level, wherein the only way to go is up. The increase in volume transactions is a great factor that determines that a business is getting better and that's the way an assistant is needed.
Whenever your business gets too big that you cannot be able to handle it all alone you will definitely know it because you will be having a lot of jobs that are not attended to and you will need an assistant to help you do that.
Yes, when the size of business grow more than the entrepreneur could handle it, then he needs an assistance that would be working with him.
He must just ensure he doesn't employ anyhow but qualified personnel that is skilled in the field. Not only that, he must be hardworking and intelligent as well.
An entrepreneur does not need to wait till when he gets truckload of works before he should get an assistant. As a business investor, he must know that he cannot handle all operation of his business, even if it were sole proprietorship business.
Assistant would continue to enjoy relevant when business begins to expand in operation. Similarly, a business owner does not need to wait till his business overgrown before he decide to employ assistance when he feels he cannot managed efficiently.

As an entrepreneur, if the business is taking so much time from you that you can't balance your life, you definitely need an assistant. There are other things than business to attend to.
An entrepreneur would get an assistance when the business is growing and there is need for more hands.
There is how a business grows and the clients base is so huge and they start complaining of unanswered queries. At that point, you need to get an assistant so that the backlog won't be on existence any longer.
I will always stress for any entrepreneur to make sure that they are very careful when it comes to hiring the staff that are working for them because those staffs are capable of killing the business if they are not the right people.
if you're just beginning as an investor or entrepreneur you may not need assistant. But as time goes on and the workload becomes much you can hire an assistant. But you can also do that as a beginner if you wish.

You don't have to wait until when the workload is too much for it to cause stressful situation. If you can afford the cost, you should make an arrangement how part of your assignment should be delegated. You can't afford to be everywhere while in the course of your duty.
