Unfortunately if you are talking about formal jobs then the basics will have to be either a certificate or degree that you acquired but as for the skills and experience it will carry weight as well as an added advantage.Just that employment is really a challenge in my country looking at the current statistics.

If you are fresher then you need a degree to get a job and once you get to experience your knowledge and skills get you a job and your salary also depends on it. Just to own a degree is not enough to get a good job.

These days people are not even after your degree, rather they are after the skills you have and what you can offer. This is why you would see people with third class gaining jobs a first class graduate could not get. The best thing to do is why fighting for a degree, get a skill for yourself as well.

Skills are required always but there are departments in which you just need to show your degree and you will get job or promotion

I will say both. Some companies are asking diplomas and certificates to show how competent the applicant is.

I think you need the skill more but you still need your degree to back it up. A lot of companies will not employ a person without a degree

But I think Nigerians are still more about a degree because to even get the opportunity to be shortlisted you need a degree

Exactly my point and the main thing is to get a location im your job so you need the degree at the end of the day. Skill is very important too

My country Is just realising that the paper degree is worthless without skills. They are trying to align towards skills but we don't have what it take to teach skills after 60 something years kf prioritizing a paper in the name of degree.

We all have to be skilled and that is why you need to learn a skill alongside what you are studying at the university

Omo na skills o!. There are many degree holders seeking jobs from one area to another's, yet no job. Whereas companies are engaging skillful workers to fill their workforce.

No matter what you do all no matter what kind of education you have you need to have a skill that will feed you because skill matters in these days

These days what you need is approach and if you have links with government officials or politicians then you can secure a good job and salary with just graduation only at least in India

For now in my country the skills are the most needed for one to get an employment. There are tons of graduates every year from the universities, colleges and none finds employment.
