I am not sure if there are many different kinds of negotiation "abilities". However, the fact of the matter remains that negotiation should be done on fair grounds all the time.

In my opinion, the most important negotiation skill is the ability to convince the other party to what we have to offer. Example: When negotiating a sale and purchase, buyers only need to be convinced of the advantages of our products that other companies don't have, so they want to buy our products.
I do think that a salesman can have a lot of sales for being a good negotiator. Negotiating skill is the best quality that they need to acquire. But then, it will take time to have it.It's a great skill to have and yes we can learn it and get better with time and this way we can bag different deals on our terms
A good negotiator must be good listener to both parties and be fair in negotiations. His decision must not been as a partial or unfriendly.
It is true that you must have persuasion ability. That requires that you develop self control and patience while being able to coordinate what to say and convince the other party.it will be right to develop a convincing skills because if you will not convinced properly it will be difficult to get it right. it is only by convincing you can get it right faster
