Yes it's unprofessional fir architects to take over building because they feel entitled to it. Most people become civil engineers just because they've seen or they've tried it.

It is Civil Engineer's responsibility to supervise construction of a building, architect's responsibility is design.

I don't blame the architects for trying to cross the boundary, I blame the system for not putting stiff laws and practices in place so these don't occur.

Is like saying people who designed cars should service or repair cars because they designed it. Designing and building are two different ventures.
