Admins do take steps backwards when the site doesn't generate the expected income that's what happens

There are many websites that are actually abandoned by their owners and this is why they simply stop functioning, despite the fact that a few members may still be active on such sites.

That is correct, apart from that it's licence may have some years more to renew or expire.
