Why does organisations always switch the work schedule of staff regularly?

I notice that in the mall where I go to shop, staff don't have specific roles. A staff could be in the cash point today and by next week, he or she could be at the dispensing counter.

Why the frequent switch of staff between job roles?

It depends, for the organizations that do this, there are various reasons as to why they do this. It could be to prevent staffs getting used to a particular position where they can easily carry out fraudulent activities, or just to prevent them getting bored of a particular position where it would lead to unwillingness to work.

This is evident to BPO industry or well-known as call center companies. They do this in shifting, which is a normal working schedule for them.

I have also noticed this and I can’t even give a particular reason. A friend of mine who worked in the mall too has the same situation but can’t give a reason

I think that helps on the determining of the abilities for the workers on different departments for the business.
I don't think that is the reason. The main reason would likely be to check the exceses of staff that might easily have too much power in one department.

They want to make their employees multiskilled so that the organization's work doesn't get affected if someone goes on leave or leaves the organization.

The thing is, it's all about meeting the needs of the business and also satisfying the end user. As manager must know how important it is to achieve the goals of the organisation.

The importance is, They need to be able to respond to changes in demand and to also make sure they get enough staff on hand to actually meet that demand.

There could be different reasons for this. One possibility is that the management wants to make sure all employees can do different jobs and be skilled in various tasks.
