Why I think selling provisions is a waste of time.

I don't like this provision business. How can one sell a whole carton of a thing and the profit is just NGN40. Don't even say anything about turnover. It takes an appreciable amount of time to sell a carton of biscuit. And so it is for most provisions.

I think it is just a waste of time.

It would not only a waste of time, but also a waste of money if not being sold. That's the reason why we need sellers to be supplied by any items to be sold.

They hardly complain. One good thing about provision merchandise is that it is a kind of business that you don't lack fund either from your capital or profit. Money is always available.

This is always the case with provisions business. it has small profit but need some good amount of money.

Yeah I think the wholesalers are the ones doing well and better with the business but retailing isn't much profitable

I agree with you. And one thing that I do laugh at is when there are lots of the seller in same street or same complex.

I stated either on this forum or somewhere else that a business that can make 50 people pay you 19 cents everyday is bound to make you very rich. It is true that turnover drives groceries. It is just lack of ideas that is just making people establish grocery shops close to each other.

Provisions busines is a good business because we have regular customers every day. However, if you want more profit, you can expand your online marketing so you can sell more than existing regular customers.

Selling groceries online? I don't think this is feasible in my place because grocery shops are everywhere and there is not need to order online. In my compound alone, we have two grocery shops operational.

The only way those who are into the selling of provision products make profit is by frequent turnover from their sales because their profit-making is always very small but frequent turnover helps them to make more profit over a short period of time.

You can't say the business of selling provisions is a waste of time. It depends on your size of capital invested in it. There are many people that are making fortunes ou of this business you called av trash. If you have passion in it and ready to be disciplined in the business, you'll make your profit.

At my place, there are also many grocery stores everywhere, but online grocery stores are still in demand. Because each has its own target market. I also sometimes buy them online when I don't have time to go to the store in person.
