Why is firewood business still lucrative in Africa?

I thought that with the proliferation of methane gas, firewood would have gone extinct and those still doing the business would have changed line?

The reverse seems to be the case. In Africa, people selling firewood are still thriving and making good money off it.

What could have been the cause of this persistent of firewood business?

Firewood is something that I make use of cooking my meal whenever I went to the village and I don't care whatever technology have brought to the world, I still fancy making use of firewood in the village.

Since it's the easiest way most prefer it and even in India and in many villages people prefer fire wood and for that some even illegally cut trees from the forest.

Firewood is the cheapest way for families that are at the lower end can get fuel to cook. That is why it is still popular.
